What do you get for your money

I have been teaching in one form or another for 17 years now. This includes 10 years teaching science in schools, including Physics to A-level and 7 years private tuition including a few years teaching Maths and Chemistry. I try and give the tools to the student to teach themselves as well as explain the difficult concepts they might be struggling with. It is usually best to supply me with more specific topics you would like me to go through ahead of the lesson, but I am very used to turning up to a client’s house and them telling me there and then what they want to work on. Some clients are not sure what they need to work on and they need my help with this too, which is of course fine. As a registered member of the Tutors Association I can be found on their database so as you can have confidence I am qualified and DBS checked. I am also a registered examiner for Pearson examining board and so would be able to help with how to answer exam questions in order to get the highest marks. All clients have the following services with PH Tutoring:

  • A shared Google Calendar so as you can stay organised and know when lessons are.

  • A shared Google Drive folder for resources, lesson notes and other helpful documents.

  • Invites to online lessons using Zoom which makes joining my online lessons easy and efficient. Just follow the instructions on the Google Calendar event.

  • Interactive Screen sharing allows me to share animations, whiteboard notes and simulations in real time. I also have the option of allowing the client to control my computer if I would like them to have a go at the simulation or produce a written answer to a question.

  • Shared Interactive whiteboard access allows easy communication and explanations of concepts. Each student has their own whiteboard and this can be accessed at any time for free.

  • Resource database. My resource database contains tens of thousands of assessments (with answers), videos, websites, simulations, programs, suggested reading and more.
